VITAMINS, MINERALS & ANTIOXIDANTS IN OCTANE ENERGY DRINK®
Vitamin A
Beta-Carotene is a powerful antioxidant, and has been shown to help guard against cancer and heart disease.
Vitamin C
Vitamin C is one of the more powerful and well-known antioxidants. Vitamin C also helps to maintain healthy collagen in the skin, repair damaged tissue, promote healthy teeth and bones, and boost the immune system.
Vitamin B1 (thiamine)
Vitamin B1, also known as thiamin, helps fuel your body by converting blood sugar into energy. It keeps your mucous membranes healthy and is essential for nervous system, cardiovascular and muscular function.
Vitamin B2 (Riboflavin)
Vitamin B2 helps break down carbohydrates, fats and protein for use by the body. Its role in maintaining an energy supply for the body is crucial as it helps convert carbohydrates into adenosine triphosphate (ATP), a compound needed to store energy in muscles.
Niacin B3 (as niacinamide and niacin)
Niacin plays a key role in over 100 functions necessary for health and is especially important for energy production and, as a vasodilator, blood circulation. It's also needed for red blood cell formation, the health of skin and the digestive tract, healthy nervous system functioning and brain activity, and for the synthesis of the sex hormones estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone.
Niacin and niacinamide are forms of vitamin B3 having equivalent vitamin activity. Both are precursors in the synthesis of the pyridine coenzymes NAD and NADP involved in cell metabolism. Appropriate niacin intake is especially important for those with arthritis and early-onset type 1 diabetes. Niacin promotes good cholesterol ratios (HDL vs. LDL) as well. It also maintains normal function of skin, nerves, and the digestive system. Another important benefit of Niacin is that it helps to dilate blood vessels resulting in increased blood flow through all parts of the body. Increased blood flow helps to regulate the supply of oxygen and nutrients and also help flush accumulated toxins out of fatty tissue.
Lastly, niacin may also help prevent or treat mental disorders, may be of benefit in controlling diabetes, and may reduce high blood pressure.
NOTE: OCTANE Energy Drink contains a ratio of both forms of niacinamide and niacin for improved health benefits. If you happen to feel a red tingle hot sensation it is called a "niacin flush". It is not harmful or dangerous. Some people worry about it, but it is actually a sign of improved blood flow.
Vitamin B6
Vitamin B6 helps the body make several neurotransmitters which are chemicals that carry signals from one nerve cell to another. It is essential for normal brain development and function and helps the body make the hormones serotonin and norepinephrine, which both influence mood, and melatonin, which helps regulate the body clock.
Folic Acid (Vitamin B9)
Folic acid is Vitamin B9 which act like a coenzyme in the breakdown of proteins and in the synthesis of new proteins. It is necessary for the production of red blood cells and the synthesis of DNA (which controls heredity), as well as tissue growth and cell function. It also increases the appetite and stimulates the formation of digestive acids. Everyone needs folic acid. For women who may become pregnant, it is especially important. When a woman has enough folic acid in her body before and during pregnancy, it can prevent major birth defects of her baby's brain or spine.
Vitamin B12
Vitamin B12 is an essential water-soluble vitamin that is commonly found in a variety of foods such as fish, shellfish, meat, and dairy products. Vitamin B12 is frequently used in combination with other B vitamins in a vitamin B complex formulation. It helps maintain healthy nerve cells and red blood cells and is also needed to make DNA, the genetic material in all cells. Vitamin B12 is bound to the protein in food. Hydrochloric acid in the stomach releases B12 from protein during digestion. Once released, B12 combines with a substance called intrinsic factor (IF) before it is absorbed into the bloodstream. Vitamin B12 also helps your cells metabolize protein, carbohydrate, and fats.
Biotin
Biotin is a B vitamin that is needed for the formation of fatty acids and glucose, which are essential for the production of energy. It also helps with the metabolism of carbohydrates, fats, and proteins.
Vitamin B5 (Pantothenic Acid)
Vitamin B5, known as the anti-stress vitamin. It plays an important role in the secretion of hormones such as cortisone because of the role it plays in supporting the adrenal gland. These hormones assist metabolism, help to fight allergies, and are beneficial in the maintenance of healthy skin, muscles, and nerves. Pantothenic acid is also used in the release of energy as well as the metabolism of fat, protein, and carbohydrates. It is used in the creation of lipids, neurotransmitters, steroid hormones and hemoglobin. Pantothenic acid has been known to also be helpful to fight wrinkles as well as discourage the graying of the hair.
Choline Bitartrate
Choline is an essential nutrient involved in many body functions. Choline is important to the structure and function of cells. Choline is also the base for many metabolic functions of the body; helping to synthesis phosphatidyl choline, sphingomyelin, acetylcholine, and betaine. These nutrients are all crucial to the body for they support the neurotransmitters, the cell membranes, maintain homocysteine levels, and more. Choline also plays a important role in burning body fat for energy and plays a role in synthesis and optimization of nitric oxide, a vasodilator that helps maximize the flow of oxygen and nutrients to the muscles which is important for physical sports performance.
Inositol
Inositol is one of the many B complex vitamins. It has an important function to play in the formation of Lecithin, which protects cells from oxidation, and is an important factor in building of cell membranes. It also has a metabolic effect on the body, in which, it prevents fat from being stored in the liiver. It is a essential ingredient in maintaining good health.
Copper
Copper is the third most abundant trace mineral in the body. It helps protect the cardiovascular, skeletal, and nervous systems. It is needed to make an enzyme that keeps your arteries from hardening and possibly rupturing, and for the production of phospholipids, which help form the myelin sheath surrounding the nerves. Copper plays a key role in the development and maintenance of healthy skin and hair. The body needs copper to produce the skin pigment melanin, which colors the skin, hair, and eyes. When hair turns gray due to copper deficiency, taking copper supplements may reverse the process. Copper also helps regulate the function of lysyl oxidase, an enzyme needed for the creation of collagen in the bones, connective tissues, and skin. Many topical creams designed to firm and restore the skin?s elasticity now contain copper peptides as an active ingredient. Copper also helps the body fight cardiovascular disease. It promotes low cholesterol levels and discourages the development of atherosclerosis and aortic aneurysms by keeping collagen and elastin fibers healthy. Heart rhythm disorders (arrhythmias) and high blood pressure have been linked to an absence of copper in the diet. Copper also helps supply the heart with healthy, oxygenated blood. It works together with iron in the respiration and synthesis of hemoglobin. In fact, copper is believed to be necessary for proper storage, use, and release of the iron needed to produce hemoglobin in red blood cells. For this reason, copper is sometimes used to treat anemia. Approximately 50 percent of the body?s total copper content is found in the bones and muscles. Copper is a common treatment for rheumatoid arthritis and osteoporosis. Because it helps promote healthy collagen in the body, copper may relieve aching joints and minimize loss in mineral bone density.
Chromium
Chromium, an essential mineral, is necessary for the formation of Glucose Tolerance Factor, a compound that regulates the body's use of glucose and helps to balance blood sugar. Chromium is also used in the metabolism and storage of fats, proteins, and carbohydrates by the body. Although there is no hard evidence that chromium aids weight loss or reduces body fat, as has been suggested in the past, chromium does have many other health benefits.
Citrus Bioflavanoids
Citrus Bioflavoids are a great antioxidant and can have antiviral effects. They also provide natural anti-allergy and anti-inflammatory benefits as well to help with fighting free radicals also known as toxins.
When it comes to the common cold, citrus bioflavonoids can help reduce the symptoms such as congestion and other respiratory conditions associated with the cold and allergies. They come in a variety of different forms and are not produced by the body making it an essential supplement that one needs to help boost the immune system. Some good food sources of bioflavonoids are found in citrus fruits, peppers, apricots, lemons, grape fruit and prunes, but many people do not incorporate the recommended five servings of fruits per day which leaves a lot of people deficient in this area.
When taking a citrus bioflavonoid supplement on a daily basis, it also provides other health benefits as well. This includes the prevention and treatment of varicose veins, spider veins, blood clots, bruising, high cholesterol levels, arthritis, cataracts, inflammation, bleeding gums, edema and hypertension. It is also well known for helping with the aging process due to its antioxidant properties and can actually keep you looking and feeling much younger than you are. Most importantly, it enhances the function of vitamin C which means you are basically getting double your vitamin intake and allowing healthier immune system.
Boron
Boron is a trace mineral that is needed by the body in minuscule amounts. It was discovered in 1910 as an essential element for plants but in 1985 scientific research discovered it was an essential nutrient for people, too. Boron benefits include healthy bones and proper brain functioning. Boron plays a major role in helping to prevent osteoporosis by helping build and maintain healthy bones. It helps reduce the loss of calcium and magnesium in the urine, which is needed to help build strong bones. Boron elevates levels of serum estrogen and ionized calcium (important because women who develop osteoporosis have low levels of these). Boron also helps maintain healthy cell membranes for normal cell function, and facilitates various enzyme reactions for the body. Studies have shown that a deficiency in this mineral may impair mental functioning and depress mental alertness.
ELECTROLYTES:
NOTE: The OCTANE Energy Drink™ contains all five main electrolytes which are Calcium, Chloride, Magnesium, Potassium, Sodium and the three Micro-Essential Electrolytes which are Selenium, Zinc and Phosphorus.
Calcium
About 99% of the body's calcium is stored in the bones, but cells (particularly muscle cells) and blood also contain calcium. Calcium is essential for the following:
- Formation of bone and teeth
- Muscle contraction
- Normal functioning of many enzymes
- Blood clotting
- Normal heart rhythm
Calcium is one of the main nutrients that the body requires in order to overcome the problems of high blood pressure, heart attack, premenstrual syndrome and colon cancer. One of the main health benefits of calcium is that it helps in keeping the bones strong and healthy. Calcium helps to keep a check on the blood pressure and also it aids in muscle contraction, thereby enabling the heart and blood vessels to perform their functioning effectively.
Chloride
Chloride is an ?essential? mineral for humans. It is abundant in ionic trace mineral preparations. It is a major mineral nutrient that occurs primarily in body fluids. In addition to its functions as an electrolyte, chloride combines with hydrogen in the stomach to make hydrochloric acid, a powerful digestive enzyme that is responsible for the breakdown of proteins, absorption of other metallic minerals, and activation of intrinsic factor, which in turn absorbs vitamin B12.
Magnesium
Electrolytes - magnesium, potassium, calcium and sodium - are some of the most important and most well known nutrients in the fight against cramping. But, did you know that you are most likely to run out of magnesium before any other electrolyte? Most people do not eat enough foods containing magnesium (such as green leafy vegetables, nuts, figs, and pumpkin seeds).
Magnesium is needed by the cells to allow potassium and calcium to move in and out when needed for the muscle to do its job. Without adequate levels of any of these nutrients, the muscle becomes irritable. Both potassium and calcium are needed and the body usually has enough of these two electrolytes, but if the body doesn't have magnesium, it can't use the other two.
Potassium
Potassium is an electrolyte (a substance that maintains your body's fluid levels), this mineral helps regulate blood pressure and heart function. Research shows that increasing your potassium intake can lower your blood pressure. Those individuals with existing hypertension, as well as those just looking to keep their blood pressure in check, can benefit from potassium. Potassium also regulates water balance and assists recuperative powers. Potassium aids rheumatic or arthritic conditions (causing acids to leave the joints and ease stiffness). Potassium is crucial for the elimination of wastes. Potassium is a natural pain desensitizer. Potassium helps control convulsions, headaches and migraines, promotes faster healing of cuts, bruises and other injuries and generally contributes to a sense of well being. Potassium is stored in the muscles.
Sodium
Sodium is an important electrolyte and an essential ion present in the extra cellular fluid (ECF). The health benefits of sodium play a pivotal role in enzyme operation and muscle contraction. It is important for osmoregulation and fluid maintenance of the human body. Other health benefits of sodium include heart performance, nervous system and glucose absorption.
Sodium is the predominant ion and electrolyte, needed for the blood regulation in the human body. Serious impairment is caused due to the abrupt dysfunctioning of sodium. It is a versatile element and occurs in more than eighty forms. As an electrolyte, it regulates the body fluid and transmits electrical impulse in the body. Unlike minerals and vitamins, heat has no effect on sodium. Thus, it can be used for heat resistive processes. Also, it is an important constituent of nerves and helps in muscle contraction.
Selenium
Selenium is an essential trace mineral present in almost every cell of the body. The highest concentrations of Selenium in the body are found in the kidneys, liver, pancreas, spleen and testes. Selenium is very important for good health, and has many functions. Helping to boost the immune system, Selenium also has powerful antioxidant properties to help keep disease at bay. Studies show Selenium to have strong cancer-preventative properties, and to have anti-inflammatory activity. Additionally, Selenium may help prevent heart attack and stroke by making blood less likely to clot, and by increasing HDL (good) cholesterol levels. Research also shows that Selenium may be important in the prevention of age-related macular degeneration and the formation of cataracts. Selenium may also help to enhance male fertility.
Zinc
Zinc is an essential mineral that is naturally present in some foods, added to others, and available as a dietary supplement. Zinc is involved in numerous aspects of cellular metabolism. It is required for the catalytic activity of approximately 100 enzymes and it plays a role in immune function, protein synthesis, wound healing, DNA synthesis, and cell division. Zinc also supports normal growth and development during pregnancy, childhood, and adolescence and is required for proper sense of taste and smell. A daily intake of zinc is required to maintain a steady state because the body has no specialized zinc storage system. Zinc is also found in many cold lozenges and some over-the-counter drugs sold as cold remedies.
Phosphorus
Phosphorus is a mineral that is a vital part of healthy living, but it is often forgotten in the long list of vitamins and minerals that keep us healthy. It is important to be aware of your phosphorus intake to ensure you are getting the proper amount in your diet to stay healthy.
One of the most important benefits of phosphorus is the impact it has on bone health. While calcium is usually thought to be the main bone health supplement, phosphorus actually is just as important as calcium in this area. Phosphorus supplies the body with phosphate, and phosphate is a main component of your bone structure. Phosphorus is necessary in order for the benefits of calcium to be maximized, as well, which is why these two minerals often need to be taken together, especially in those who are trying to treat or prevent bone loss or osteoporosis.
Besides its benefits to bone health, phosphorus also has many other beneficial qualities. Phosphorus can help maintain the health of your kidneys and regulate fluid levels in the body. Phosphorus also affects the proteins and hormones contributing to reproductive health. The phosphate in phosphorus also works to regulate the production and use of energy in the body.
ENERGY, STAMINA AND MENTAL FOCUS PERFORNACE MATRIX INGREDIENTS: 2.2G
L-Glycine (is an amino acid)
L Glycine is an amino acid used by the body to build proteins. L Glycine slows down muscle degeneration by supplying additional creatine, a compound present in muscle tissue. L Glycine promotes health of the thymus gland, spleen, and bone marrow and balance white cell production. L Glycine is essential for the synthesis of nucleic acids, bile acids and other nonessential amino acids in the body. It is utilized in the construction of DNA and RNA.
L-Tyrosine (is an amino acid)
L-Tyrosine is an essential amino acid which supports brain function. It can be converted by neurons in the brain into the neurotransmitters dopamine and norepinephrine (noradrenaline), hormones which are depleted by stress, excessive work and certain drugs. By replenishing norepinephrine in the brain, mental energy levels are enhanced and a feeling of contentment often occurs. L-tyrosine boosts certain neurotransmitters in the brain and has been used to support stress reduction and depression. L-Tyrosine is converted in the body into other key biologic compounds, including L-dopa, CoQ10, thyroid hormones and melanin.
Tyrosine can also enhance athletic performance. L-Tyrosine is an important component of protein and helps form the bioactive factors vital to cellular growth and maintenance. Tyrosine supplementation has the potential to increase athletic performance in a few ways. One of the mechanisms possibly contributing to fatigue during exercise is an increase in central serotonin levels and an increase in the ratio of serotonin to dopamine. Tyrosine may help decrease this ratio and compete with tryptophan (the amino acid precursor to serotonin) at the blood-brain barrier. Increased dopaminergic activity may decrease the perception of fatigue. Also, during highly stressful conditions, catecholamine levels can become depleted, and tyrosine may be particularly useful under these conditions.
The amino acid L-tyrosine is a precursor for several substances made in the body including:
- neurotransmitters such as dopamine and norepinephrine
- melanins, the pigments largely responsible for skin and hair color
- thyroid hormones, such as thyroxin
- Supports brain function.
- May improve mental energy levels.
- Enhances athletic performance.
Malic Acid
Malic acid has numerous benefits for digestion, detoxification and to support aerobic metabolic functions.
Every single cell in your body requires energy to survive and carry out its important functions. This energy is mainly provided by a molecule called ATP (adenosine tri-phosphate), which must be activated by another key chemical called Malic Acid.
Malic acid is a natural substance found in several different sources of fruits and vegetables - one of the richest sources being apples. One of its most significant benefits lies in its ability to stimulate metabolism and increase energy production. Malic acid plays a key role when energy is produced during aerobic condition (that is, in the presence of oxygen) and anaerobic (that is, in the absence of oxygen) condition. Also because of its role in cellular energy production, malic acid may be helpful to individuals suffering from chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia. The body cannot burn fuel for energy and produce ATP without Malic Acid.
As well as playing an essential role in the production of energy it possesses many health-related benefits such as boosting immunity, maintaining oral health, reducing the risk of poisoning from a build-up of toxic metals in the body. Malic acid is also able to remove high levels of toxic metals that have accumulated in the body, such as aluminium and lead, and inactivate them. This latter action is extremely important as a heavy metal overload has been linked to serious problems like liver disease and Alzheimers.
Malic Acid, used in combination with Magnesium which is also in OCTANE Energy Drink, has been found to offer relief for the muscle pain and fatigue associated with fibromyalgia.
Caffeine Anhydrous
CAFFEINE- is a compound made up of four of the most common elements: carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen and oxygen. Caffeine is a central nervous system (CNS) stimulant, is one of the best-tested ergogenic aids and is known to help athletes train harder and longer. It also stimulates the brain and contributes to greater concentration. There are over 70 studies on the utilization of caffeine for both endurance exercise and short-term, high intensity exercise. The vast majority conclude that caffeine does indeed enhance performance and makes the effort seem easier. The average improvement in performance is about 12 percent, with greater benefits noticed during endurance exercise.
Caffeine has been shown to safely improve many of the mental functions necessary to be successful in athletics like speeding up reaction time, improving processing skills, increasing alertness and the ability to concentrate. Furthermore, caffeine is known to increase the utilization of free fatty acids by the muscles enhancing endurance and fat burning while sparing muscle glycogen.
D-Ribose
Ribose is a naturally occurring substance used by every cell in your body to synthesize and rebuild energy. Ribose is the most fundamental building block of adenosine triphosphate (ATP), the primary source of energy for every muscle cell in your body. ATP gives your body the energy it needs to stay healthy, overcome fatigue, and regain the vitality you need to live a normal, active life. That is why ATP is called the "energy currency" of the cell.
Ribose helps energize your heart and muscles by increasing energy on a cellular level. Aging, strenuous exercise or overexertion, and many metabolic or physiological conditions can drain ATP from your tissue and affect how well your body makes and uses energy. Science has proven that ribose is a necessary ingredient for rebuilding energy in our bodies. So, without ribose we cannot make the energy we need to stay healthy.
L-Phenylalanine (is an essential amino acid)
Phenylalanine is an essential amino acid, needed for proper growth and functioning of the central nervous system. It has been used to treat depression and chronic pain as well as other malfunctions of the central nervous system. Humans and animals can't produce their own phenylalanine so they must obtain it from their diet.
L-Phenylalanine is an essential amino acid, and Tyrosine precursor that works with B-6 on the central nervous system as an anti-depressant and mood elevator. Aids in learning and memory retention, relieves menstrual problems, arthritic and migraine pain. A Thyroid stimulant that helps curb the appetite.
HEALTH NOTE: Anyone with high blood pressure or migraines should consult the health care physician before taking phenylalanine or any supplement containing it or even eating foods high in this amino acid, as it may aggravate their condition.
People with the condition known as phenylketonuria (PKU) are missing an enzyme called PAH (an enzyme is a chemical in the body that breaks foods/nutrients down) in which phenylalanine cannot be broken down, so should not take phenylalanine supplements or eat foods containing large amounts of this amino acid. This enzyme is used to break down protein. Since this enzyme is missing in people who have PKU they cannot break down protein. Too much protein in the blood can cause issues like headaches, tremors/shaky hands, poor concentration, tiredness, etc. For people with PKU having too much protein is like someone taking too much medicine...so it would be like they are of overdosing on protein.
Phenylketonuria (PKU) is an autosmal recessive metabolic genetic disorder characterized by a mutation in the gene for the hepatic enzyme phenylalanine hydroxlase (PAH), rendering it nonfunctional. This enzyme is necessary to metabolize the amino acid phenylalanine (Phe) to the amino acid tyrosine.
How may people have PKU?
About one in 10,000 to 15,000 people of all ethnic groups is born with PKU.
You should also not take phenylalanine supplements in conjunction with prescription antidepressants, particularly monoamine oxidase (MAO) inhibitors, as this may lead to life-threatening spikes in blood pressure. Large doses of phenylalanine may cause nerve damage.
L-Carnitine (is a non-essential amino acid)
L-Carnitine is a non-essential amino acid that supports fat metabolism and energy production: L-Carnitine is found abundantly in muscle tissue and functions primarily to regulate fat metabolism and transport fatty acids into the mitochondria of cells, where they are oxidized and converted to energy. L-carnitine is essential to the transportation of long-chain fatty acids into the cells where the fats can be converted to energy. Recent research indicates carnitine plays an important role in converting stored body fat into energy, energizing the heart, reducing angina attacks, controlling hypoglycemia, and is beneficial with diabetes, liver disease and kidney disease.
Rodiola Rosea (Adaptogen)
Rhodiola Rosea (commonly golden root) is Adaptogen: Common uses for Rhoiola Rosea are for memory, attention span, mental sharpness and focus, anxiety / panic attacks, depression, mental fatigue, physical fatigue, and physical performance.
Rhodiola rosea has been shown effective in improving mood and alleviating depression. Research from Russia has shown that it improves both mental and physical performance, prevents sickness in high altitudes, and reduces fatigue.
In Russia, Rhodiola has been used for hundreds of years to cope with the harsh Siberian climate and stressful life.
GABA (is an amino acid)
Research has shown that GABA increases the production of alpha brain waves (a state often achieved by meditation, characterized by being relaxed with greater mental focus and mental alertness) and reduces beta waves (associated with nervousness, scattered thoughts, and hyperactivity).
MUSCLE FUEL ANTI-CATABOLIC, STRENGTH & RECOVERY MATRIX INGREDIENTS: 5.25G
L-Glutamine
Glutamine is a nonessential amino acid that is the most abundant free amino acid in human muscle and plasma. It is necessary for rapidly dividing cells, including those of the gut and immune system. It is also used as an energy source in mitochondria, and is a precursor of the brain neurotransmitter glutamate. Glutamine is also needed for optimal nucleotide biosynthesis and protein synthesis. The function of glutamine in stimulating glycogen synthase, the enzyme which controls the synthesis and storage of glycogen fuel in muscles and liver, may provide a mechanism by which glutamine supplements promote enhanced fuel stores. Glutamine supplements cause a rapid rise in cellular glutamine levels and glutamine stores in muscle. Glutamine is a diverse amino acid that is utilized in numerous vital functions. People that do heavy exercising can lower their glutamine levels causing stress to their body and immune systems. For that reason, supplementing with glutamine can be important to a serious athlete, someone challenged with muscle loss, or who wants to help maintain optimal immune function under heavy stress
- Increase protein synthesis and growth hormone secretion.
- Promote nitrogen retention and muscle cell volumizing.
- Speed recovery after intense workouts.
- Optimize glucose and insulin function.
- Help prevent muscle catabolism or breakdown.
- Improve immune system function.
Taurine
Taurine is a conditionally essential, sulfur-containing amino acid produced from cysteine by the body. It is found abundantly in the body, particularly throughout the excitable tissues of the central nervous system, where it is thought to have a regulating influence. Taurine can promote optimal blood flow to nervous tissue. It also appears to play an important role in many physiological processes, such as osmoregulation, immunomodulation and bile salt formation.161 Recent studies suggested that taurine might have neuro- and cardio-protective properties and provide protection against oxidative stress. Taurine is also critical for maintaining cardiac health in certain aging individuals. Dietary taurine may help maintain healthy liver function, heart function, brain, vision and more. However, it is deficient in many diets.
- Works as ion pH buffer in the heart and skeletal muscles and central nervous system
- Taurine is instrumental in preventing loss of potassium from the heart muscle.
- Aids in the digestion of fat, soluble vitamins, and the management of cholesterol levels.
- Aids in electrolyte balance and proper utilization of sodium, potassium, calcium and magnesium.
- Improves cell volumization and makes muscles appear larger.
- Improves anabolic processes and boosts protein synthesis.
- Maintains glucose uptake
- Helps relieve muscle cramps and fatigue.
L-Leucine
is an essential amino acid, meaning it can not be made by the body, and must be acquired through food or dietary supplements. Leucine is classified as a "branched-chain amino acid" (BCAA). It comprises about 8% of the total amino acid count in your body's protein structures and is the fourth most concentrated amino acid in skeletal muscle tissue. L-Leucine stimulates muscle protein synthesis and may be the major fuel involved in anabolic (tissue building) reactions. This makes them especially important for body builders and other athletes in sports that demand explosive strength.
- Maintains nitrogen balance.
- Preserve lean muscle tissue.
- Supplies the body with energy when under stress.
- Preserves muscle glycogen.
- Enhances thinking abilities that can decline as physical activity becomes more intense.
L-Isoleucine
is an essential amino acid that along with leucine and valine makeup the "branched chain amino acids" (BCAA). This amino acid cannot be manufactured in the body, and needs to be supplied in the diet. Isoleucine is thought to play the biggest role in increasing endurance and helping heal, repair and grow muscle tissue damaged from injury and strenuous exercise and training. Isoleucine is especially important to serious athletes and body builders because of its role in boosting energy production and assisting the body recover from strenuous physical activity. Isoleucine, together with the other two branched-chain-amino-acids promote muscle recovery after physical exercise and on its own it is needed for the formation of hemoglobin as well as assisting with regulation of blood sugar levels as well as energy levels. It is also involved in blood-clot formation.
- Required for muscle tissue maintenance.
- Preserve muscel glycogen stores (energy).
- Prevents muscle protein deterioration during exercise.
L-Valine
is an essential amino acid, specifically classified as a "branched-chain amino acid" (BCAA). BCAA's, which include valine as well as leucine and isoleucine, stimulate protein synthesis directly in muscle tissue. Valine works in the body as a fuel involved in anabolic (tissue-building) reactions, and stimulates muscle protein synthesis. Valine helps optimize the body's metabolism, providing energy and assistance with the repair and growth of damaged tissues. It has a stimulating effect and is needed for muscle metabolism, repair and growth of tissue and maintaining the nitrogen balance in the body.
- Stimulates muscle protein synthesis
- Works as fuel for anabolic reactions.
- Helps maintain nitrogen balance.
Valine, helps stimulate the central nervous system and is needed for proper mental functioning. Valine may also improves liver function by assisting with removal of potentially toxic excess nitrogen from the liver and aids in nitrogen transport to other tissues in the body as needed. Increased valine intake may improve liver function for Individuals with various types of liver disease and liver damage from alcohol or drug abuse.
L-Valine is an essential amino acid that cannot be made in the body and must be acquired through food or dietary supplements.
L-Arginine Alpha Ketoglutarate
Arginine-AKG is a more bio-available form of Arginine (or L-arginine) which is a crystalline free-form amino acid involved in numerous areas of human biochemistry, including muscle metabolism, ammonia detoxification, hormone secretion and the immune system. L-arginine is considered a semi-essential amino acid, because although it is normally synthesized in sufficient amounts by the body, supplementation is sometimes required. Arginine supports protein synthesis as it is involved in the transport and storage of nitrogen and is important for proper physical performance because it is used by the body to produce creatine.
Arginine Alpha-Ketoglutarate (AAKG) promotes increased nitric oxide (NO) production for enhanced blood flow and better delivery of oxygen and nutrients to working muscle. AAKG creates an anabolic environment in your body by increasing the volume of blood flowing through muscle tissue (hemodilation) which leads to increased oxygen and nutrient delivery, glucose uptake, muscle velocity and power output. AAKG helps amplify muscle-growth signals giving faster gains in lean mass and accelerates both fast and slow twitch muscle fiber for greater strength, improved muscle recovery, and increased endurance. The increased blood flow may also contribute to enhanced sexual performance.
- Supports protein synthesis.
- Increases blood flow to muscle tissue.
- Boosts circulatory health.
- Increases level of nitric oxide.
- Promotes healthy sexual function.
- Improves nutrient delivery.
- Increases levels Growth Hormone (GH).
- Promotes healing. Helps remove waste from body.
Beta-Alanine
Beta-Alanine is a lactic acid buffer that increases training capacity giving you the ability to train harder and longer. Weight training and athletic activities cause your body to produce lactic acid. This causes muscle pH to drop and become more acidic due to the large amount of hydrogen ions produced. As muscle pH drops, your muscle's ability to perform at its peak level decreases. Beta Alanine works by increasing muscle carnosine levels, which in turn, works as a muscle buffer by soaking up these extra hydrogen ions. In scientific studies, beta Alanine has been shown to increase strength, power output, endurance, exercise capacity, muscle mass, and delay the onset of neuromuscular fatigue. Beta Alanine is perfect for anyone who practices a sport where strength, power and endurance are needed.
Beta-Alanine supports increased performance and lean mass gains by:
- Increasing muscular endurance for more productive workouts.
- Increases Anaerobic and Aerobic Endurance which allows to you work and train harder & longer.
- Improving muscular strength & power output.
- Increasing intracellular carnosine levels delaying fatigue and metabolic acidosis.
- Helps delay muscle fatigue.
